Set the assignment before the wedding

Record call time, venues, coverage, assigned shots, gear and the person making decisions on the day. Include how and when original files will be handed over.

Put money and image rights in writing

Agree the fee, overtime, travel and payment date. State who owns the images and whether the second shooter may use them in a portfolio, with what credit and after what date. Review the final agreement for the law that applies to your assignment.

Turn a draft into an approved wedding plan

Collect the couple's answers, build the timeline, and send a version they can approve in writing.
